League History

Capitol Hill Little League (CHLL) was founded in 2011 by a group of parents, with the goal of creating opportunities for children in our diverse community to play baseball and softball with good sportsmanship, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, and sound judgment. The league is run entirely by volunteers, with hundreds of individuals supporting the spring and fall programs, serving as coaches, umpires, team parents, field crew and Board members.

The Capitol Hill community, including many local businesses, have been instrumental to the establishment and continued success of CHLL. At the end of our 9th year, the league has grown from 120 players in 2011 to more than 640 baseball and softball players in the spring of 2019.  We support over 50 teams, playing Little League Baseball, Softball and a Challenger division team for players with special needs.
